Lauren completed her master's in biomedical science with specialism in Medical Microbiology from Keele University, finishing in 2021. She also completed her Bachelor’s in Biochemistry at Keele, from which she graduated in 2020. During her masters, she undertook research synthesising Heparin mimetics and investigating the inhibition of SARS-CoV-2 RBD binding to ACE2 in vitro, alongside assessing off-target effects. She is now a PhD student in the BBSRC DTP CASE programme (in collaboration with AqDot, Cambridge), and joined the Jones group in September 2021.
