Shannan attained her bachelor’s degree at Liverpool John Moores University in Biomedical Science in 2021. During her degree, she completed an industry placement year where her passion for virology and its uses was enhanced. She is part of the A*STAR programme and within the Jones group her research is focused on the development of a point of care device for the detection of viral infections based on the release and detection of viral constituent components.
